I purchased a Cosori Pour Over Coffee Maker (this is a competitor to the Chemex) with a permanent (metal) filter.
I ground the beans and put them directly into the metal filter and brewed the coffee by slowly pouring the water from my electric kettle to make the beans bloom for about 30 seconds and then gradually pouring the rest of the water (the kettle holds 600 ml) over the beans.
The resulting coffee was very good, however there was some fine coffee bean silt at the bottom of the maker and the coffee mug.
I brewed did it the same way for the next two pots, and they were consistently very good
